Two are the milestones in the history of Milano Marittima: the official foundation of the town in 1912 and the inauguration of the MarePineta Hotel in 1927. At that time, tourism was still in its infancy. Nonetheless it was clear that charm, style, elegance and an unparalleled offer would attract a high-end and refined clientele. Since then, for nearly a century, the MarePineta Hotel has been the preferred destination for several prominent personalities from the world of culture, industry, politics, and entertainment, who particularly appreciate the hotel wide green spaces, the tennis courts (10) and the large private beach.
Surrounded by centuries-old pinewoods, only 50 steps away from the sea, the MarePineta Resort was built in the 1920s and has since been the protagonist in the history of Milano Marittima, standing out as an icon of style and elegance on the Riviera di Romagna. The vast size of the hotel and its grounds are typical of historical buildings. Today the hotel boasts 161 newly renovated rooms, tennis and padel courts that cover an area of more than 10,000 square meters, swimming pools and vast green areas. The private fine sand beach – that covers an area of more than 11,000 square meters – together with the beach bar, the restaurant and the lounge area is the highlight of the Resort.
Recently, the Milan-based Lissoni Associati Studio was charged to transform the hotel into an oasis of hospitality, with top-of-the range services and comfort. The aim was to recover the hotel luster and combine the glory of an illustrious past with a more contemporary style. “Renovation has been carried out in total respect for the hotel history. We have opted for a contemporary architecture and avoided extravagant changes” – explained architect Piero Lissoni at the inauguration of the new premises.
Since 1995, the Resort has been owned and managed by the Salaroli Family Group.
